Tendon injuries are a major cause of orthopaedic injuries, and often compromise the return to the same performance level. In thoroughbreds, tendon and ligament injuries are the most common orthopaedic injuries [1,2], and a large number of event, dressage and show jumping horses [3,4], suffer from tendon pathologies, as well.
